Terrazzo is not stain-proof – it's porous and will absorb acidic liquids in particular, even with a sealant applied you have to be careful. So, it's best to avoid using certain liquids on your countertop, or at least put a board down in the area you're using them on.
Terrazzo does not need protection from wear - it needs protection from absorption and stains. We do recommend you use a good sealer to protect the terrazzo surface after installation, honing and/ or polishing.
Unless hit by a very heavy and hard object, terrazzo does not fall off or crumble because terrazzo edges are beveled to prevent this type of damage.
